Last Thursday I had the opportunity to travel with my university to the Christian Association of Student Leaders conference (CASL). At this conference, there were representatives from various organizations from about nine different small Baptist universities from Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. For instance, there were people representing their school’s Baptist Student Ministry (BSM), Student Activities, Student Government, Greek Life, Welcome Week Committee, Resident Life, ect.   I attended CASL through the BSM. All of the people from Not Hogwarts (my… Read more »

I attend the best Christian university ever! (And, no, I’m not biased.) (Well, maybe a little bit.) The University of Not Hogwarts (as I like to call my university here on my blog) is absolutely amazing and I love it  so much! I feel so at home here, even though I’ve only been attending college for a little over one semester. I know this is the place I’m supposed to be at. I know God has a plan and a purpose… Read more »

Through out the years, many books have become my dear friends. Three book series in particular have come to me, held my hand, and helped me through an era of my life. They walked with me, encouraged me, taught me truths about life and God. The books made me laugh out loud and thus brightened up my day. Sometimes, they would even make me cry. Even through it all, I loved them very much. So, I would like to take… Read more »

Do you remember when you were young and your parents bought a new washer or dryer or refrigerator, and you were so excited? Not because you were old enough to care about the appliances, but because it meant that you would be able to play in the box?Me too. In fact, I still would play in boxes if I could fit. A few summers ago, my friend and I had the bizarre idea to have a box themed Bible study/party for girls…. I’m not very artistic, but a few years ago when I saw a picture of a melted crayon art, I knew I had to give this creative, colorful, project a try. Melted crayon art is an easy project anyone can do. Today, I will be walking you through the steps of this project, so you can create your very own melted crayon art. Crayons (I recommend Crayola) Canvas (size according to your preference) Hot Glue and Hot Glue Gun Pencil… Read more »

It’s a new year, which means that now’s the time to become whatever you want to be. It’s the time for New Years Resolutions. It’s the time for the start of something new (and the time for a High School Musical song to pop into my head). It’s the new year, so it’s the time for a new you. At least, that’s what we strive to do.I’ve never been one to make a bunch of New Years Resolutions. New Years… Read more »
