Have you ever done “Bible Surfing” during your quiet times? You know, where you pray for the Spirit to lead you in the right direction and then you close your eyes, flip the Bible open, point to a verse, and then read whatever it is your finger fell on. My first exposure to Bible surfing was in my homeschool spelling curriculum. Random, I know. 😂 I used some sort of faith-based spelling curriculum in 3rd and 5th grade. At the… Read more »

The following intro was written on January 26, 2017–   January 22, 2017 is an important day in the life of Kara because it is the day I first became someone’s girlfriend. Before this date, I had been single my entire life, so my head and heart had to go through a transition before it felt real. The following is what happened during the days, weeks, and months after I became a girlfriend. Why am I writing this post? Well,… Read more »

“I bought essential oils!” I told my first college roommate one day as we ate soup and sandwiches in an adorable diner. “Yay!!” She exclaimed. My friend used essential oils the whole time I had lived with her, so I knew she was a good person to ask my questions too. “I’ve been loving learning how to use each of them. Except, I don’t really know what to use PanAway for…” I trailed off and took a bite of my… Read more »

After my Aunt Laura passed away from leukemia in 2006, my parents planted a Mountian Laurel tree in our back yard in honor of her. Each spring it blooms beautiful purple flowers. My cousins came to visit us for Mother’s Day this year. My cousin Kelsey commented to Mom that the mountain laurel tree has gotten so tall! Mom agreed and then said, “But it hasn’t bloomed this year.” “Well, it is 2020,” Kelsey replied. I think for so many… Read more »

One of the questions I always include in reader surveys is “If you could ask me anything, what would you ask?” Sometimes these questions inspire me to write a blog post to address them. Other times I put together a Q&A post.  Today, I decided to answer the most recent questions in a podcast format! Whoo-hoo! The Questions I Answer: Why did you decide to become a pro-life advocate? Tips on blogging? What got you into blogging? What is your… Read more »

YOU GUYS MY BESTEST BEST FRIEND IS ENGAGED!!! I cannot believe it and am experiencing so many conflicting emotions. All of which I’ll probably record later in a blog post… because that’s how I roll lol! The second my BFF texted me that she and her man were looking at rings, I freaked out and cried because it hit me that this marks the end of an era. The next day, I got super excited and started looking for engagement… Read more »

A few weeks ago one of my friends and I were playing the game Villainous. If you follow me on Instagram, you might have picked up that I LOVE this game. In my opinion, it’s the best Disney themed game out there. My friend had two of the expansion packs, so I was excited to play as new characters. Of course, I picked Mother Gothel from Tangled because that movie is one of my all-time favorites! Did you know that the… Read more »

Have you ever wondered “How far is too far?” or “What boundaries do I need in my dating relationship?” As Christians, we know that sex belongs in marriage, but there are often disagreements about what kinds of physical affection is okay to do before marriage. Hugs? Holding hands? Kissing? Cuddling? The list of questions can go on and on. And usually, people say, “The Bible doesn’t mention dating, so anything other than sex must be okay.” I was listening to… Read more »

Typically I hate the part of wedding receptions when the bride tosses the bouquet. I find it awkward and uncomfortable. When I was single, it was a reminder that I didn’t have a boyfriend. Once I started dating, the thought of catching it made me dread the “When are y’all getting married?” questions that would soon follow. But last summer, I unexpectedly felt something different. During the wedding reception of my boyfriend’s brother’s wedding, I found myself wanting to catch the bouquet for… Read more »

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if you could get essential oils for free? Young Living Essential Oils are high quality and high-value products. As such, they’re not the cheapest things out there. And that’s a good thing. Cheapy oils are filled with fillers and chemicals or the plants are grown with pesticides, allowing more crops to be grown and sold for less. However, the quality of the oils decreases with its price. In my post “Is the Young Living Premium Starter… Read more »
