The following is a guest post by Elizabeth of www.wanderlustandheart.com I have a bit of a control problem: I have issues with asking for help or trusting others with a job I know I can do or when I have a certain outcome in mind. I am this way with God sometimes. Typically, I don’t usually ask for help and I like to try to ‘fix’ or ‘get things done’ on my own. I am also a planner. Not a ‘my… Read more »

My name is Hannah and I am nineteen years old.  I am a full-time student at St. Ambrose University, studying nursing!  I work at a little Ice Cream Shop in my hometown, which is tons of fun!  I love the outdoors so much, hiking, camping, mountains, lakes, animals, trees… you name it, I love it.  I spend a lot of time in the Word, getting fueled up by God’s love!  I can never get enough, it’s all just so good! … Read more »

Hi I’m Whitneye! I’m 30 years old, a teacher, and enjoy reading, spending time with family and friends, and writing. What’s your singleness story? My singleness story is pretty simple. I’ve been the girl that’s always been the friend guys wanted to hang out with but not the girl they wanted to date or marry. I’ve never had a boyfriend or been on an actual date. I’ve always watched my other friends date or been the third wheel. I’ve always… Read more »

When I was in the eighth grade, I was head over heels for a guy. Let’s call him Relad. Relad and I weren’t in the same classes, so the only time I could see him is when we would pass each other in the hallways. I looked forward to those times so much, I eventually memorized his schedule so I would know when exactly we would pass each other. (Not my finest moment.) I was super shy around guys then,… Read more »

Hi! I’m Melinda, 37, and an Administrative Assistant for Law Enforcement Training. My hobbies include reading, shopping and spending time with family and close friends. What’s your singleness story? My singleness story began a little over 7 years ago. I was in what I thought was a happy marriage. My spouse cheated on me. During the hardest time in my life I found out who God was and what He was capable of. I had rededicated my life to Him… Read more »

My roommate wants to be a wedding planner someday, so there are lots of bridal magazines and Pinterest-scrolling happening at our apartment. The other day we spent the evening scrolling through our wedding boards on Pinterest, discussing things like veils and first looks and bridesmaids dresses and wedding photography. It was a very girly evening, full of happy, daydreamy ideas. Browsing through the “wedding aisle” on Pinterest can be such a fun way to relax and pass time, but I’ve… Read more »

Here on Joy Because Grace, we’ve discussed praying for our future husbands quite a bit. We’ve discussed why it’s important, ways we can pray for them, and what we can pray for them. I’ve even created a “Praying for Your Future Husband eGuide” you can grab for free. However, we haven’t really discussed the personal benefits of praying for a man we’ve never met. Now, I’m not saying here that the only reason we should be praying for our… Read more »

Last year I rounded up my favorite singleness/dating videos by Blimey cow and compiled them into a blog post for your viewing convenience. Since then, they have made more hysterically funny videos on this topic, and so I just had to share them with you! :) Some background though, in case you don’t know who Blimey Cow is. Blimey Cow is composed of two Christian brothers who are now somewhere in their twenties (Josh and Jordan), Josh’s wife, and some… Read more »

A few months ago a reader emailed me and asked if I could write a blog post about what it means to give your heart to a guy.

“By the way could you do a blog on what it means to give your heart to a guy? I’m not sure I understand what it all means. Because can’t you give your heart just by your evil thoughts?”
Quite frankly, this question stumped me. Which is why the blog post she requested is just now being published– I had to think about this some!

There seems to be this misconception that if you don’t have a significant other you can’t celebrate Valentine’s Day and that Valentine’s Day has to be miserable if you’re single.
Lies.
Today, we are going to discuss how we can have an AMAZING Valentine’s Day, even if we are single.
