I participated in my high school’s choir my freshman, sophomore, and  junior years. During the fall of my freshman year, there were only seven students in the choir. There were five freshmen, one sophomore, and one senior. Although we were small in numbers, we were a very close group. Because we were so small, we had more opportunities that semester than the choir has had since. We took several field trips to a nursing home to sing to the residents there. We also traveled to a Renaissance Festival (which was somewhere in Texas… I don’t remember how far it was from us).

The entire festival took place in a castle, and so it was a blast pretending that I was a villager in a medieval town who sneaked into the castle for a day. We were able to see so many cool things. There was a jousting tournament, people who juggled fire, and other small events. People sold various medieval items in small booths and shops. One booth sold medieval toys, and I had fun playing with them for a little while (I ended up buying a flower crown instead of the toys though). We also spent about fifteen minutes of our day watching a few high school choirs preform (the whole reason we came to the festival *winks*). Overall, our trip to the Renaissance Festival was a blast.

I will sing to the LORD because he has dealt bountifully with me.
