Last week I told you lovelies about my university’s revival. Well, I didn’t mention something that I fully believe is a complete God-thing.

One of my revival small group leaders teaches a Zumba class here at Not Hogwarts. Zumba. And, unlike last semester, the Zumba classes no longer conflict with my work schedule. *Cheers*

I love Zumba. Over the summer, I attended some Zumba classes at a local gym for the first time ever, and I couldn’t believe how fun it was.

So, when my friend Bre and I found out that our awesome small group leader teaches Zumba, we decided to try it out.

So we did :)

And this is what I’m grateful for today.

I’m grateful for Zumba.

I’m so glad there’s a workout that can actually be fun. Because, let’s face it, I’m not really what you would call athletic. But when you turn on upbeat music and show me a dance routine, I forget I’m exercising and focus on just having fun.

I’m grateful for revival,

and that my small group leader teaches this class. I can’t believe that out of all of the many small group leaders, my friends and I chose the person who is a Zumba instructor. I 100% believe that “coincidence” was a gift from God.

I’m grateful for my friend, Bre,

and that I don’t have to go to Zumba alone. They’ve been doing the same songs all semester, and so all the people in the class know them really well… and then there’s Bre and I, trying our best but still slightly off beat in some parts. But hey, we’ve only been to two classes so far. And at least we can look funny together :)

Henry the DinosaurWhen I think about Grateful Heart Monday, and what to post for  them, I tend to think I should write about something big. Something everyone can somewhat relate too. Like being grateful for Mondays or for a bad day.

But I think sometimes it’s good to be grateful for really specific things. Such as a specific workout class, or a specific friend, or a specific book or candy or blow-up dinosaur.
(Come on now, how cute is little Henry the Dinosaur??)

We can be thankful for big, vague things all we want,  but if we don’t take time to be thankful for the small, seemingly insignificant things, then gratitude hasn’t overcome us yet.

And I don’t know about you, but I want to be overcome by gratitude.

I have wanted to check out a Zumba class for years now and want to even more so now! :) And I always say that a grateful heart is powerful and important, no matter what its grateful for… so whether it’s a little something or a big something, it’s the act of being grateful that counts xo!

Zumba is soooo awesome! I used to hate ANY type of organized exercise. I will forever be grateful for my friend who dragged me to a class. Seriously. Feels so amazing.
