My first year of college ended about a month and a half ago, and I figured it’s high time I do a quick recap of the year. So, today I present you with the top ten memory countdown- freshman edition. Here we go :) 10. Welcome Week Welcome Week was a blast! I met lots of awesome people and made some really great friends. My “family group” and I played a bunch of crazy games, ate Frosty Cones, learned about… Read more »

God has blessed me so much by giving me such a great suite-family. I love these girls so much! Over the last semester we’ve gotten super close, and they’re my best friends. We’ve had so many adventures… And we have a fantastic group text going on: I’m so thankful for these girls, and so glad I was able to live with them this past year. I’m gonna miss them greatly over the summer! Totally bummed that this is our last… Read more »

The necessity for stress relief is enormous. Just take it from me; this past Tuesday I was literally curled up on my bed about to cry from stress. I couldn’t move. I couldn’t think clearly. All I knew is that I had so many things to get done, and so little time to do them in. I was stress paralyzed. I have discovered that being stress paralyzed isn’t constructive when it comes to finding time to blog (Thus I didn’t… Read more »

Last Thursday I had the opportunity to travel with my university to the Christian Association of Student Leaders conference (CASL). At this conference, there were representatives from various organizations from about nine different small Baptist universities from Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. For instance, there were people representing their school’s Baptist Student Ministry (BSM), Student Activities, Student Government, Greek Life, Welcome Week Committee, Resident Life, ect.   I attended CASL through the BSM. All of the people from Not Hogwarts (my… Read more »

I attend the best Christian university ever! (And, no, I’m not biased.) (Well, maybe a little bit.) I also learned many lessons in my classes, but we don’t need to talk about those :)The following list contains twenty things I learned during my first semester… 1. Roommates aren’t the big bad wolf I’ve heard so many horror stories about freshmen who go potluck and… Read more »

…And it’s Christmas Time now! *Whew* Finals were intense. The tests themselves weren’t that bad; I just hated how the only thing to do all week was just studying. That’s it.And all my friends were studying too, so I didn’t want to interrupt their studying to hang out with them. There was nothing else to do. I couldn’t even go to class to pass the time! (And if I was wishing to go to class, you can bet I was bored!)… Read more »

I’ve heard of Christmas in July, but I’ve never heard of a Christmas in October..? This past weekend, I went on a retreat with the college group from my church. Friday evening eight freshmen girls from the University of Not Hogwarts piled into a minivan. It was a squeeze, but all of us and our bags and pillows managed to fit. We drove to the church to meet up with the rest of our group and from there made our… Read more »
