Vision.

^^That’s what I’ve been praying for. Vision and purpose to know where to take Coffee With Kara in the future.

In November, my Sunday School teacher pulled from John 15 to support his lesson. He referenced the “Christ is the vine, we are the branches” passage. And as my teacher was reading this passage, a word stood out to me.

Abide.

I couldn’t get that word out of my head. What does “abide” even mean? It’s a really fancy and pretty word, but we don’t use it very much in our day to day lives.

“Yeah, excuse me, I’m going to go back to my house to abide for a while.”
Is that how it’s used?

The word continued to sink into my mind. I realized I want to learn what it means to abide in Jesus. What it looks like. How it’s been done in the past and how people today in our culture can abide.

Which brings me to Coffee With Kara’s focus for 2016.

In 2016, here at Coffee With Kara, we’re going to be learning what it means to abide. We’re going to look at Jesus’ life and how He is our ultimate example. We’re going to study women in the Bible and see how they abided in Jesus. We’re going to hear from women who are living today, and their experiences with abiding.

Overall, I’m super excited for this series.

2016's Word of the Year

2016 starts in two days, and so be sure to check back in on Friday to see the first post in the Abide series.

Until then, if you haven’t filled out CWK’s reader survey yet, I would really appreciate it if y’all would take a minute to do that. You can do so here. Thanks so much! :)

Blessings!
Kara
